Hi everyone!! I hope you are all well!
It has been a long time since I had the time to create just because I wanted to and not because I had deadlines that I needed to meet, it has been even longer since I found the time to join in a challenge!! So was pretty excited this month when I found time to sit down and create something for this months PPP challenge over at Prima.
You can check out this month's challenges along with the amazing DT work and other entries here on the Prima blog.
Here is the stunning moodboard Prima have put together this month.
I have taken the Cobalt, Creamy White, and Soft Turquoise from the palette adding the tiniest touch of Yellow in my background to soften it up and add a little warmth.
Here is my take on this months PPP:
'Love'
All the papers I have used are from the Garden Fable collection. For the background I have spread Prima Heavy White Gesso with a palette knife in thin coats, gradually lightening up the paper and covering some of the patterns. I have then spread Art Extravagance Texture Paste in White Crackle over the background in the rough area I wanted my photo and embellishments to go.When it was dry I added color with a combination of Mica Powders, and Color Bloom Sprays. I finished my background by adding some Light Modelling Paste through my Finnabair Halftone Stencil.
Some details:
For my title I have used this little silver plate by Ingvid Bolme. I have layered it on top of a rein heart and my flowers.
I have used Soft Matte Gel to add a sprinkling of Silver Microbeads, Turquoise Glass Beads and Microbeads in Splash to the lighter Blue and White colored flowers on my layout.
I have brushed the tips of all my flowers with heavy White gesso before spraying and splattering colors to match the background.
Lots of texture!!!
I have layered together Cobalt Glass Beads, Glass Glitter in Pitch black and Microbeads in Splash to create a darker shadowy border around my clusters and to tie in with the Cobalt on the background.
As always I have created lots of layers and dimension on my layout.
I'm so happy with the way this turned out as I just love this photo of Jet when he was a baby. I look at it sometimes and wonder if really was that small or if it was just a dream... He has grown so fast, and continues to grow every single day.
That is all I have to share with you today but I will be back in a day or two with my BAP entry as well!! Yep!! I found time for a second challenge this month too.
Have a great week everyone!!
