Anyway, just stopping by to share with you my most recent creation for CSI. I found this old photo of my niece Alyssa at her 4th birthday, and realized it was perfect for this case!!! I will confess that I actually struggled a little with these colors, but I am very happy with the way my page turned out!!
This week's case-file:
For the evidence I have used:
Butterflies: The fussy cut butterflies placed around my page.
Glitter: The peg and handmade chipboard polaroid frame have both been covered with chunky gold glitter.
Flowers: All my gorgeous Prima flowers!!
Rub-ons/Stamps: I have added some stamping to my background.
Wings: The butterflies have wings!!
Watercolor: As always I have painted my background with watercolors.
For my testimony I have used all three Inspiration words. My journalling is hidden behind the photo on a section that pulls out.
It says:
'Every little girl sparkles on her birthday, and you especially so. To you the world is full of magic, laughter, fun and games. We were lighting the candles on your birthday cake and you were busy wondering what you might wish for on your very special day.'
'You will always be a princess Alyssa and you will always be loved'.
'Such a beautiful Little Girl'
As you can probably guess, I have had a thing for white backgrounds lately.... It's a little strange for me as I have never particularly been a fan of white backgrounds..... I tend to be rather clumsy and mistakes on white are extremely noticable. I can't even count all the backgrounds i have tried to do on white and thrown away due to serious mistakes.... Thankfully I seem to be getting a little better with my clumsiness!!
Some details:
I am a tiny bit addicted to chunky gold glitter at the moment.... I love using it on my pegs, and on the polaroid frames I make!!
These 2 chipboard frames here were cut from the excess of some old chipboard that I had kept. I embossed it with some white UTEE, and when it was dry I drew over the entire frame with my Versa Mark Embossing pen, then covered with this very fine antique gold embossing powder and heated it. The smooth surface of the UTEE caused the gold to run and swirl as it was melting creating this really cool marbled effect.
A couple of little handmade flags!!
The butterflies were cut from some paper I found in my stash. They were perfect for this case-file!!
There are quite a few layers beneath my photo, papers, chipboard frames, the twine and calico. The little bow on top of the photo is handmade... I didn't have any ribbon the right size to place around the middle though, so i just wrapped some cotton around it.
Of course my page would not be the same without my usual collection of gorgeous Prima flowers, and other embellies!!
As you can see there is quite a bit of dimension on here... I love bulky pages, though storing them is becoming somewhat of a problem.
I chose to do the title in black just to tie in with the baker's twine beneath the photo and my hand-drawn border around the page. I also really love how it stands out!!
That's all I have time to share today as it's nearly time for tea and my boy wants some dinner!! I will be back sometime between now and Saturday to share with you some Prima pages I made!! I hope you found something here to inspire you today!!
Have a wonderful week everybody!! Xo!!
